PALM BEACH, Fla. - President Donald Trump denied claims that his name appears in sealed Jeffrey Epstein files during an interview Saturday at his Mar-a-Lago resort, responding to a social media post by billionaire Elon Musk alleging Trump’s inclusion in the documents.
Trump accused Musk of “going crazy” and dismissed the allegations as “completely fake news orchestrated by jealous people and possibly Oprah.”

Torn Wires sat down with Trump for a 25-minute interview, portions of which are transcribed below.
TORN WIRES: Mr. President, Elon Musk recently posted on X: “@RealDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.” How do you respond?
TRUMP: Well, first of all, Elon, who I always said was very smart, maybe too smart, is going crazy. He used to love me. I gave him subsidies, I defended his rocket cars, and this is how he thanks me? Sad. I’m not in the files. Everyone knows that. If I was, they’d be out already, laminated, and on MSNBC every night.
TORN WIRES: Are you saying the files haven’t been released because your name is in them?
TRUMP: No. I’m saying it’s all nonsense. If anything, they’re not released because they’re boring. Probably filled with Democrats. Maybe even Joe Biden’s name is in there—although he probably forgot he ever met Epstein. I don’t forget. I remember everything, especially when I didn’t do anything wrong.
TORN WIRES: There are photos of you with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell at Mar-a-Lago in the early 2000s. How do you explain that?
TRUMP: I take pictures with everybody. That’s what famous people do. You ever take a photo with a stranger? Same thing. Doesn’t mean I’m flying to pedophile islands. I barely like boats.
TORN WIRES: Epstein’s former lawyer, David Schoen, has stated publicly that you had no involvement. Is that your primary source of vindication?
TRUMP: Absolutely. Very respected guy, very legal. That’s like a Supreme Court ruling as far as I’m concerned. And I’ve always said, if you’re going to be accused of something, make sure your lawyer has also worked for the accused. It’s efficient.
TORN WIRES: Why do you think Elon Musk would make a claim like this?
TRUMP: He’s mad I didn’t invite him to my new AI launch, TRUMPINTEL. It’s a beautiful product. It generates compliments about me in 27 languages. One of them is Latin. I think Elon’s jealous. Maybe he’s spending too much time around wires and batteries. Could be a short circuit. People are saying it.
TORN WIRES: You reposted a meme that says “Epstein didn’t even invite me.” Do you believe that helps your case?
TRUMP: Absolutely. It’s a very funny meme. People love it. I have shirts with it. I’m signing some later today. If anything, I was snubbed by Epstein. Which proves I’m innocent and classy.
TORN WIRES: You said there would be “serious consequences” if Musk continues supporting Democrats. What did you mean by that?
TRUMP: I meant financial consequences. He’s going to waste all his money on losers. That’s a consequence. Look what happened to Bud Light.
TORN WIRES: Final question, if the Epstein client list is released and your name is not on it, what will you say?
TRUMP: I’ll say what I’ve been saying for years: I’m the most innocent man in American history. And I’ll probably sell a hat that says it. Maybe a visor too—for the golfers.
TORN WIRES: Thank you, Mr. President.
TRUMP: You’re welcome. Great interview. Much better than CNN. You’re lucky to have me.
TORN WIRES NOTE: The Epstein files remain sealed at the time of this interview. Musk, who deleted his post on X, has not provided evidence for his claim, and no government agency has confirmed Trump's inclusion in any such documents. Trump-branded merchandise related to the controversy is currently available in the Mar-a-Lago gift shop.
